One of the criticisms I heard over and over about the Passion is that, "Christianity is about love, this movie is about brutality." Now it's possible for people to miss the whole point of Jesus self sacrifice is the greatest example of love. Although if they did any research they should know this. The research wouldn't even be that hard. Turn on a football game for some other big sporting event and look up the verse on the sign people hold up (John 3:16). But assuming that is too hard, what is interesting is these critics apparently(?) missed the obvious statments in the movie. What about the quote:

"You have heard that it was said, 'YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR and hate your enemy.' "But I say to you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you"
