Alice Cooper recently got his star on the walk of fame in Hollywood, CA. I saw him at an R.C. Sproul / Ligoneer conference in the early 90's. I was inadvertently staring at him in a buffet line. He looked at me like, "What... something the matter?" I looked away, a little embarassed. The recent news item made me wonder, is he walking with Jesus? Check out articles below...fascinating.

Cooper doesn't quite RockTheCross.
Although I don't question his faith, it seems genuine, his focus could be better. He says he doesn't want to be a celebrity christian,"[Alice Cooper Goes with God. ]," but he is. He is a celebrity, there is no escaping that. He is a believer, hopefully, 100%. Seperating the two is doing himself and his fans a huge disservice. Simply warning of Satan is good for a theatrical rock show, but it's only a small part of the message.
Rock on!
In some ways...
... he has somewhat used his celebrity status. He released a CD called "The Last Temptation." Here's a description of it from Amazon.com:
-----
Alice stars as a bored loner who pays a ticket to a carnival freakshow. There he meets the show's Ringmaster, who turns out to be The Devil in disguise. After offering Cooper a lifetime of unlimited bliss, Satan cajoles the loner to sign (in his own blood) an unholy contract that robs Alice of his very soul. Soon enough, the terrified Cooper learns that the only way to avoid perishing in Hell's fire is to pray to the Bible and ask Christ to cleanse his sins. Generally, this CD clearly indicates Mr. Cooper's first careful blends of disturbing, street-wise lyrics with foreboding Christian images of God, angels, the Devil and crucifiction. Such a pleasing formula would be continued on in Cooper's "Brutal Planet" and "Dragontown."

One thing that is also interesting to me is Johnny Cash. After he passed away recently I started reading about him a bit. Apparently he was a Christian. He even made a movie in the 1970's about Jesus' life. He was HUGELY popular, but some of songs didn't beat around the bush. Anyone else have any insights into Johnny Cash?
Johnny Cash's hit 'Ring of Fire'
Johnny Cash's hit 'Ring of Fire' was originally sung with June Carter, her sister and mother. They were singing evangelists on tour to churches, revivals etc. It was originally a christian song.
