The Amazing Power of God

We've had some interesting weather in Southern California (rare I know).  My friend royord took some great shots of the lightning.

God is truely amazing.  I was listening to a message by Alistair Begg this morning, entitled "The Attitude of Christ Part B    Philippians 2:5-8"....  He was describing the beautiful condescension of God.  Christ, being fully God, the same God that created H2O, using it to wash the grime off the feet of the disciples.  Never thought of the creator/creation aspect  of that before.  Amazing Love, how could it be, that You my God should die for me?

Have this attitude in yourselves which was also in Christ Jesus,

who, although He existed in the form of God, did not regard equality with God a thing to be grasped,

but emptied Himself, taking the form of a bond-servant, and being made in the likeness of men.

Being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross.    Phil 2:5-8 (NASB)

Christ's Attitude ;what our focus should be

That is so amazing, that the God of the universe, The creator,

the one by whom and through whom and for whom all exists

exists. "He is the radiance of His glory and the exact representation

of His nature"-Hebrews 1:1-3a  would choose to be humble?!?

That baffles me. As C.S. Lewis states in the "problem of pain"

(by the way insighful in many instances) - that God is so humble

that he even accepts our obedience when we see it as our last resort.

That could seem like such an insult to only come to Him when we seee

Him as our only hope left. The only one who needs not to be HUmble

subjects Himself to humility for loves sake. In Philippians 3:20-21 Paul reminds

us of our exalted status because of Christ."For our our citezenship is in heaven,

is in heaven, from which also we eagerly wait for a Savior, The

Lord Jesus Christ; who will transform the body of our humble

state into conformity with the body of His glory, by the exertion

of the power that He has even to subject all things to Himself."

So the King of Kings voluntarily transformed into the body

of our humble state so that we could be transformed into

a glorious one. How kind marvelous...how awe inspiring . To

love such a God. With this we can truly say with Paul "I count

all things to be loss in view of the surpassing greatness of knowing

Christ Jesus my Lord, "(phil3:8)

It causes me desire to  Praise and

worship the King of Kings with my Lips with my life, with my heart

blessing Him who deserves all the glory and Praise
