Okay, so I dig Linux, but as a newbie. I haven't yet taken the Torvalds Kool-Aid, but I'm pretty close with this new Ubuntu.
For those who don't know, Ubuntu is the #1 distro right now, and this new version looks to only further that reputation.
Like I said, I'm far from being a poweruser, but I like the theory behind OpenSource, Linux, etc. Ubuntu has been pretty easy to use, and I've been able to tinker a little, even with my limited understanding.
My advice, give it a once over. The best part is, if you don't like it, you didn't spend any money on it.

Refreshing Linux
I always get a nice feeling when I am done playing games in my Wintendo, and boot into Linux.
