Drop That Phone!

Gentlemen, there is a new study that talking on your cell phone hurts your fertility. Yes, if you talk on your phone for more than four hours a day forget having kids. All those EMRs that are bombarding your brain magically kill off your sperm (hee hee, I said sperm).

Alright, the article is here, but don't worry. Their argument is shaky at best. Test the logic of their claims.

Just hours till our flight

Well, I am sitting at Pastor Jon's house, and we are going to be leaving for the airport in just a few hours.  It will be very difficult to say goodbye, as our time has been extremely special.  Hope Church of Rascaietti is truely our sister church, and we have grown closer once again.

We also had an amazing time of ministry, including 5 persons proclaiming faith in Jesus Christ for the first time this week.  The last coming as were atop the mountain monument.  A man from a previous nights evangelistic meeting walked all the way up the hill because he was ready for a change, and had some questions.  This young man said that he would be going to church, and was not embarrased to turn from his sin and proclaim his faith in Christ.  He was an alcoholic and was moved by Chick's testimony the other night.  We were atop the mountain, overlooking Moldova, and stood in a circle with the whole church singing and praying to God.   Eventually it rained on us as some were leading this young man (probably in his late 20's) to Christ.

Its hard to say goodbye

I am sitting in a computer lab in the school in Rascaietti. The director of the school did have a small painting project for us, but what she really wanted was a new computer so that the school could access the Internet.

We did buy a computer, which had an enormous impact, and I think will continue to affect the community for some time to come. But we also were able to get the old computer lab up and running. There are 10 old HP workstations, and a old HP netserver. The computers only have 16MB of ram, and most are running windows 95. But we managed to get a shared internet connection through a windows 98 server with an external US Robotics Courier Modem. :)

On way to airport to fly to Moldova

Sunday was Great.  David did a wonderful job of preaching, and we had a good time of fellowship in the city of Budapest.

We are heading out now to the airport to fly to Moldova.  2 hour flight, followed by 3 hour drive to village.  Don't know if we will have internet in Moldova.  Thanks again for all your prayers.

First night in Hungary

What a wonderful Christian family we are staying with. Over a light dinner we found out that their daughter Anita knows some english and that the mom Judith took one 20 hour class. They have been at Monty's church since its formation, and Anita who going to beautician school share's Christ with her co-workers at a salon. They have been to the church camps which Hope joined in attending, and remembered Pastor Rich fondly, as well as Chick and Jerry who they sat with during one of the group sessions.

Again, what a blessing to be staying with a family with Internet access. Its a little slow to type on as some letters are arranged differently on the keyboard - Y and Z keys are reversed, and most of the punctuation keys are in different spots. But once I found the hungarian version of firefox that was already installed, I was ready to go...
