What happened to the last two months?

Its been 47 days since we got back from our Short Term Missions trip to Hungary and Moldova.... I haven't touched the blog since then. Here's an abbreviated version of what I should have posted:

1. We made it back safely! - The trip back was fairly smooth (some issue with ticketing at Heathrow but it was resolved quickly), and went a little quicker for me than I had anticipated. Unfortunately my wife got a little sick. It was good to see friends, family, and our puppy :)

2. Post Ministry Depression - there is a serious let down coming back from intense ministry to some of the seamingly un-important things about daily life. The tendancy, which I was already aware of, is to rush to the things of the world to satisfy. Being reminded of sin and its affects in the world around us cause a further spiral. Some jet-lag probably doesn't help either.

Drinking & Feeding

I have been a part of a Hermeneutical Bible Study for many years now. When I first started, I was overwhelmed by the work required. I felt that I had no business breaking down the Word, seeing what was there and creating a cohesive theme for the passage. I'm sure there were many tiimes the leader wondered just what I was thinking.

There are many times that I can not complete the work. Circumstances, my own procrastination and life's junk gets in the way sometimes. I have never felt that I completed the work for a passage. How deeply can we plumb the depth's of God's Word? There have been many times that I have been frustrated by my own seeming inability to apply learned truths.

Podcasting

Recently I've taken on, with a team of wonderful people, the co-leadership of my church's youth group. So doing, my brain has been bursting with ways to update the way we connect with kids; an obvious offspring of that is "technology."

Now, I'm a moderate tech-geek, and I see websites that engage kids, providing them with devotions, bible studies, and a community to bolster their faith and help them become real powerhouses for God on their campuses. But, this has led me to other thoughts as well.

To develope the idea a little further I looked to the success of our radio ministry, and thought, "Hmmm." This is a very cost prohibitive way of reaching the world with the truth, but there could be a better way. Not that I'm bagging on radio, it is just so Marconi. Podcasting, may be an amazing way to get voices into the ether. Here's the idea:

Creflo Dollar - An honest false prophet

Creflo A. Dollar may be may favorite televangelist; why? because he may be the most honest. Look at his name; there is no way a man so obsessed with money just happens to be named after his favorite subject. He even replaced the cross on his pulpit with his own initials. Be that as it may, there are countless other problems.

Primarily, Doc Dollar does not believe Jesus was God.

If Jesus came as God, then why did God have to anoint him? If Jesus - See God’s already anointed. If Jesus came as God, then why did God have to anoint him? Jesus came as a man, that’s why it was legal to anoint Him. God doesn’t need anointed. He is anointing. Jesus came as a man and at age thirty, God is now getting ready to demonstrate to us and give us an example of what a man with the anointing can do.
